Pretty much, having been a boat owner long ago I found that if they put the word 'marine' in front of the product they can mark it up about 300%.

no,, boats use Marine batteries. A marine battery has less cranking amps but extremely long running times and life times. Unlike a car battery these batteries are made to run until they go dead and be recharged without harm.
they are extremely heavy because they have much more lead in them. |

Most pontoon boats use Marine battery's. This has more to do, with the engine than the boat. the battery connections are usually ring terminals, and are made to quickly be taken off, with the wing nuts on that style battery. In addition Marine battery's are made for the more severe conditions that boats experience.

Usually, a regular car battery, but marine grade batteries are available. The terminals are covered to avoid corrosion from salty or moist air.

that depends..............but definately ALWAYS USE MARINE
PARTS............from batteries to bellows......and carbs to exaust.........yes more expensive initially..........but you can't put a price on breaking down or even worse having a fire far from shore..........marine grade parts bringing you home safe and sound...........PRICELESS |
