    this would depend on many things, like the weight of the boat the motor is pushing, the speed, the sea state, current, wind, shape of the hull, etc.

    Older outboards were not designed with efficiency in mind eiher, so it is most likely going to guzzle a bit.

    On most family runabouts that motor would get in the 3-4 MPG area. A lightweight speedster might even nudge it to 5 or 6. A heavy party barge might get only 1 or 2. In general, most 2-stroke outboards will get about 10% of their horsepower in GALLONS per hour of fuel used. Therefore, your 90 should use about 9 gallons per hour at wide open throttle. Might use less than that if you throttle back to a good cruising speed - somewhere above a comfortable planing speed...
