I have to build a cardboard boat using only cardboard and tape. It must hold about 300 pounds. I need to find the best shape for the boat. Speed does not matter, but we have to travel 100 meters in it. Also, how many layers of cardboard should i use on the bottom and sides?
Thanks for any help. |

Oakrider,
I suggest that you make the boat about 18" wide, on the inside, and about 6' long. I suggest that you use about 10 layers at least for the sides, and 15 layers for the bottom. You will need to find some cardboard that is waxed or otherwise water-resistant. You will need a LOT of tape to make 100 meters. Build the boat in layers, from the inside out. Good luck.
