I know that I have to be sober but are my passengers allowed to drink/ have an open container on my boat?

your best to check you local laws as this could vary by location. In our area it is legal for passengers to consume alcohol while the ship is underway and for the operator to do so at while at anchor.

Looks like your passengers could have a drink, but of course the operator can not. Remember too you as the operator are responsible for your passengers.
Michigan law prohibits anyone from boating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This includes operating any boat, sailboat, or personal watercraft.
It is also unlawful for the owner of a vessel to allow anyone else to operate their vessel if that person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
